Daylight Takes Centre Stage at the Brand-New Holiday Park Resort

Daylight Takes Centre Stage at @The Park Lage Mierde at the Brand-New Holiday Park Resort De Brabantse Kempen Netherlands
At the brand-new holiday park Resort De Brabantse Kempen by TopParken, everything revolves around comfort, experiencing nature, and atmosphere. This is not only reflected in the luxury chalets, but especially in the heart of the resort where @The Park Lage Mierde is located. @The Park Lage Mierde is the brand-new restaurant where guests come together for breakfast, lunch, or a good glass of wine. The building was completed last year by a specialised prefab builder and fully furnished with a focus on quality and sustainability. What stands out? The daylight that pours in abundantly through sixteen Techcomlight Powerdaylight systems.

âď¸ Daylight as a Design Element
For The Park, daylight tubes were deliberately chosen instead of a traditional glass roof. âThe restaurant had to become a place with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, but also practical and energy-efficient,â explains Veldjesgraaf. âWith a glass roof, you often face issues such as dirt, glare, or heat gain. Our system, on the other hand, is low-maintenance, cleans itself thanks to a special coating, and allows diffused light to enter. So you donât suffer from glare while you are dining.â
The tubes from Techcomlight bring daylight inside through reflective ducts, evenly distributing it throughout the space. âThe result is natural light that blends beautifully with the ambient lighting. That is exactly what you want in a restaurant: functional light where it is needed, but also a pleasant atmosphere.â

đż Practical and Atmospheric
The restaurant is not only a place where guests come to eat, but also a workplace for kitchen and service staff. Good lighting is therefore essential. âDaylight is not only a mood-maker, it is also essential for working conditions,â Mark explains. âIt contributes to the overall wellbeing of the staff. In addition, you save significantly on artificial lighting, because during the day you hardly need to use it.â With these daylight solutions, TopParken contributes to its ambition of building energy-efficient and future-proof parks.

đ Perfect for Prefab
Another advantage of the Techcomlight system is its technical applicability. Because the restaurant was built entirely prefab, the roof had to be light, well insulated, and easy to transport. âA glass ridge is hardly feasible in prefab construction,â says Veldjesgraaf. âThe risk during transport and installation is simply too great. Our tubes, however, fit perfectly between the seams of the zinc panel roof. Only 40 centimetres of space was available, and with our 35-centimetre diameter system we were able to anticipate this perfectly.â
The system is also well insulated. âWith a large glass section in the ridge, you would face overheating in the summer and the need for sun protection. Our daylight systems keep the heat out, but still bring in full daylight. That also makes it a sustainable choice.â

⨠An Experience for the Guest
Ultimately, at @The Park Lage Mierde, it is all about experience â and light plays a leading role in that. âIt is a wonderful example of how practical lighting and atmosphere can come together. Guests may not immediately notice it, but they certainly feel it. That bright, open feeling in the restaurant? Thatâs daylight, exactly in the right place.â
âFor TopParken, daylight is more than just light; it is an essential ingredient for the wellbeing of our guests and our employees. Thanks to the Powerdaylight systems from Techcomlight, everyone at Restaurant @The Park Lage Mierde experiences a natural, warm atmosphere â exactly how we want our holiday parks to feel,â concludes Chadli Hachani, Marketing Manager at TopParken.
